From Physical Barriers to Digital Access:

Building a Unified and Scalable Parking Platform

About The Project
Urban mobility is changing fast. Cities are getting denser, and drivers are spending more time looking for parking than actually driving.
In partnership with Mobypark, we helped transform a strong idea, a sharing platform for unused parking spaces, into a scalable digital ecosystem that connects hardware, payments, and people. The result: a two-sided marketplace that unites IoT access control, automated payments, and real-time availability across hundreds of European parking locations.
Challenges

Mobypark had a clear vision: simplify parking by connecting space owners and drivers through one seamless digital platform. But the challenge ran deeper than building an app. This was about bridging physical infrastructure and digital automation. Integrating parking gates, payment systems, and data flows into one reliable system that could scale across cities and vendors. The project required deep integration between IoT hardware, financial automation, and user-facing software. All while maintaining uptime, accuracy, and trust.

The core challenges:

  • Integrating 5+ IoT access control systems with unique APIs and hardware protocols
  • Automating multi-country payout and commission models
  • Managing real-time availability and preventing booking conflicts
  • Ensuring high scalability to handle variable traffic patterns
  • Synchronising 1,000+ external garages via API-based inventory management
What We Did
Platform & UX architecture for both marketplace and admin systems
IoT access integration with unified API layer
Automated payment and payout system
Scalable infrastructure setup on AWS
We built the technical foundation that connects every part of the system — from IoT gates to booking engines and payout workflows.
The goal was simple: make complexity invisible. Drivers see availability and access in seconds; owners see revenue and occupancy in real time.
Delivering Connected, Scalable Systems
Our work focused on transforming fragmented systems into a single digital backbone that could evolve with Mobypark’s growth.
Each layer — hardware, data, and payments — was designed to communicate through a standardised architecture, ensuring both flexibility and stability.
We didn’t just connect systems; we designed for resilience, ensuring that every component could scale independently and recover gracefully when one failed.
Key Features

Two Systems, One Experience
IoT Access Layer
Connects various hardware vendors through one standardised adapter service.
Marketplace Core
Manages bookings, payments, and real-time data synchronisation across all locations.
Together, these systems form a single connected ecosystem — merging physical operations with digital control.
Results
Integrated 5+ IoT vendors under one unified standard
Automated multi-country payout and commission logic
Reduced operational friction and improved booking reliability
Scalable AWS infrastructure ready for European market expansion
Real-time, conflict-free availability management
Impact
Mobypark’s platform now helps cities reduce search traffic, lower emissions, and make better use of existing space, proving that technology can simplify mobility while improving urban sustainability.
By digitising physical access and automating complex operations, Mobypark turned a parking problem into a scalable mobility solution.
