Redefining what “MaaS” means in practice.Turnn wanted to make public transport more efficient — helping users instantly understand how and when to move. However, achieving that required a complete rebranding, redesign, and regeneration of the code base. The iOS version was built on an outdated framework, limiting scalability and future feature development. Meanwhile, the Android version needed major UX improvements to make journeys simpler, not more confusing. The goal: build a consistent, reliable experience across both platforms — native apps with their own codebases — while ensuring seamless multi-modal integration.
Complexity in practice:
- Integrating multiple transport providers with different data sources and systems
- Ensuring accuracy of routes and timetables across APIs
- Managing migration without service interruption
- Balancing technical robustness with intuitive design
As part of the ICT Group, Turnn set out to create the next standard of mobility in the Netherlands.
The challenge wasn’t just technical — it was systemic. Each transport provider had its own platform, data, and logic.
Creating a truly unified user experience meant bridging these isolated systems without compromising reliability or speed.

Real Mobility-as-a-Service isn’t achieved by simply connecting APIs.It requires understanding how people move, how operators work, and how cities evolve. We built a platform that brings every journey together — from public transport to private mobility — supported by robust integration layers, custom connectors, and intelligent routing logic. The result: a single, intuitive app that hides technical complexity behind simple choices for users.
Large enterprises such as ASML and Qbuzz use Turnn to offer sustainable commuting alternatives beyond personal cars.We developed:
- A personalised travel planner powered by real-time open data
- A unified account system managing all transport modes in one place
- Seamless payment and reporting tools supporting behavioural change toward greener mobility
By integrating with public transport networks and multiple MaaS providers, Turnn helps organisations reduce their environmental footprint while improving employee convenience.
Today, the platform also operates as a white-label solution, powering mobility ecosystems beyond its original scope.
Urban mobility is evolving.
To enable last-mile flexibility, we integrated Go Sharing’s electric scooters directly into the Turnn app — giving users instant access to shared e-scooters without leaving the platform.
We introduced the Quick Plan Widget, enabling commuters to plan home-to-work routes in seconds.
It removes the cognitive load of daily travel decisions and improves punctuality and satisfaction across organisations.
Through collaboration with Donkey Republic, Turnn users can unlock shared bicycles directly in-app — expanding multimodal transport choices across cities.
Mobility doesn’t end when the journey does.We added parking discovery and payment integration, enabling users to find and pay for nearby parking directly within Turnn.
With the RRReis day ticket, users can move freely across multiple transport modes for an entire day.No additional apps. No extra friction.
Reliability is central to user trust.
The Overstapbewaking feature alerts travellers to potential delays and suggests real-time alternatives — preventing disruptions before they occur.
